Tereza Neuma lives and works in Recife, in the North East of Brazil. Since 1999, Tereza has been working with performance and sound, relating her work to artists as diverse as Joseph Beuys, Paulo Brusky, Pina Bausch, Max Neuhaus and Steve Reich. In her performances and sound work, she often makes use of low tech means to achieve a relevant comment on a global modernity. After graduating from the Federal University of Penambuco, she has been taking part in many exhibitions and running student workshops in experimental practices at the Observatório Cultural Malakoff. She has recently been selected (among more than 1000 artists) to be part of “Rumos Visuais”, a project curated by the prestigious Itaú Cultural, which will travel to São Paulo and other major cities in Brasil.

Trilhas Urbanas - Vibrö 3 (track 12)
The audio intervention Trilhas Urbanas, was has featured on two FM radio stations in Recife, Brazil. In the midst of a very noisy broadcast filled with loud jingles and adverts, strange sounds hijack the airwaves. A laconic German voice repeats titles of works by Josef Beuys and Walter Benjamin, followed by the sound of typewriters, reproducing the titles in a non-verbal rhythmical sequence. This version was re-edited exclusively for Vibrö in 2005.
