Astro Turf - Vibrö 3
(track 05)
Astro Turf, explores the movement of a miniature space. In a miniature world, events are
noticed by their sounds: sweeping Astro Turf, sounds from undefineable spaces, a mechanical
shop, an occasional insect, an open window, radio waves coming from a kitchen. Astro Turf
can be a space that moves around, continuously changing its size and density, contracting
and expanding.

13 Volts and 1 Carrot
13 Volts and 1 Carrot is an improvised interactive performance using real-time sound processing and a gestural digital interface. The narrative in "13 Volts and 1 Carrot" is a surreal response to cultural issues of the stranger and the community, an experimental narrative based on various sources of folklore from Northern Europe, and police films from the 30’s, communicated through sound and movements. The performance examines the use of digital physical interfaces and its relation to live performance, where data is processed in real-time, in a totally self-controlled and mobile system. There are, in the current version, nine sensors attached to the body, responding to gestures. The gestural interface is built on a board with a PIC micro controller, and the sound is processed using max/msp. The length of the performance varies. The current version of the gestural controller is “Kinesis 3.0”. More info can be found at: http://www.moomonkey.com
